David Buckbinder studied fine art at the Art Students League in New York and art history at William Paterson University. He focused on landscape painting under the tutelage of eminent landscape painter John Osborne at the Ridgewood Art Institute in New Jersey. He is an active, exhibiting member of Allied Artists of America and the Ridgewood Art Institute. Mr. Buckbinder currently teaches drawing and painting at Center City Galleries in Paterson. Along with handling marketing and public relations for the Galleries, he curates many of the Galleries’ shows, and recently exhibited his art in a 3 person show entitled, “Substance Meets Style.” His painting of the Paterson Falls is part of the city’s permanent collection and hangs in City Hall, Paterson.

Buckbinder is the winner of many awards at juried shows throughout New Jersey and New York over the years, most recently: First Place in Landscape Painting at Center City Galleries 2010, Best in Show at the Edgewater Arts and Music Festival, 2009 and Best in Show at the 45th Annual Art in the Park Show and Concert in Bergen County’s Van Saun Park, 2009. The Ringwood Manor Art Association featured him in a show of award-winning artists and photographers, titled the “Winner’s Circle,” which was favorably featured in the press. Mr. Buckbinder was recently interviewed for Fair Lawn TV, which ran on cable channel 77. This half hour interview highlighted Buckbinder’s solo show at the Fair Lawn Library in 2009.
